Send money from Qatar to India
Compare transfer options available through Qatar-based banks and Western Union, including UPI, Indian bank accounts and cash pickup.
Last reviewed: 14 September 2026
Some providers in Qatar show the rate, fee and final INR amount only after you sign in, choose a transfer method or add a beneficiary. Because we cannot access enough comparable quotes at the same time, we cannot show a reliable live comparison yet.
Current published rates
What do the published rates show for 1,000 QAR?
Western Union provides a transfer quote with a fee and recipient amount. QIB publishes a bank sell rate, but not the fee or final amount for the same transfer.
| Provider | Published rate | Fee | Recipient gets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Western Union | Loading… | Loading… | Loading… |
| QIB | Loading… | Not published | Not calculated |

Western Union is a public bank-deposit quote using the payment option returned by its calculator. QIB is a reference exchange rate, not a complete transfer quote. Check the final rate, fee and INR amount with the provider before sending.

Options in Qatar
Which services can you use in Qatar?
If you bank with QNB or QIB, you can send money to India through the bank's app or online banking, provided that you have access to its digital services.
Western Union via Al Fardan works separately from the two banks and can be used online or through an agent. You can pay for an online transfer with a Qatar-issued debit card, while the recipient can receive the money in a bank account or collect it in cash.
Which option fits how you send?
Your options partly depend on which services you can access in Qatar:
- If you use QNB: check which of UPI, IMPS, NEFT and RTGS is available for your amount and recipient.
- If you use QIB: you can send to an Indian bank account using the recipient's UPI ID.
- If the recipient needs cash: Western Union offers cash pickup as well as bank deposit.
What does UPI mean for the recipient?
UPI is an Indian payment system that identifies the recipient through a UPI ID linked to an Indian bank account, so it is not the same as sending money to a stored wallet balance.
QNB lists UPI and IMPS as faster options alongside NEFT and RTGS, while QIB offers account-to-account transfers using UPI. Which method you can use will depend on the provider, amount and recipient details.
What to check before sending from Qatar
- Can you use the service with your existing Qatar bank account or payment card?
- Does the provider show the final INR amount before confirmation?
- Does the recipient prefer UPI, a regular bank deposit or cash pickup?
- Are the transfer limit and expected delivery time suitable?
Compare the final INR amount for the same QAR amount—not the fee alone. The exchange rate can change which option gives the recipient more.
Why are live rates not shown?
To compare live prices, we need the rate, fee and final INR amount for the same transfer at the same time. Since we cannot currently collect all three figures consistently, we do not estimate which provider gives the recipient the most INR.
Sources and verification
We checked the information above against each provider's pages for transfers to India, although the options available to you can still depend on your account, the recipient and the individual transfer.
