What could make the difference?
Compare the estimated recipient amounts above to see how much the displayed results differ.
The difference comes from the combination of the displayed exchange rate and transfer fee. A provider may charge a low or no visible fee while including part of the cost in a less favourable exchange rate. That is why a lower fee does not always mean that more money reaches your recipient.
Before sending, confirm the final amount, receiving method and delivery time directly with the provider.

Ways to receive money in the Philippines
One thing that stands out when sending money to the Philippines is the range of ways the recipient may receive it: through a bank account, a mobile wallet such as GCash or Maya, cash pickup or, with some providers, an eligible debit card.
This gives the sender and recipient more flexibility, but it also makes the receiving method an important part of the comparison. Fees, exchange rates, delivery times and receiving limits may differ between these options.
RemitNavigator does not currently include receiving method as a comparison filter. Confirm that the selected provider supports the option your recipient needs before completing the transfer.
Bank account transfer
A bank transfer deposits the money directly into the recipient’s Philippine bank account.
The sender will commonly need:
- The recipient’s full name as registered with the bank
- Bank name
- Account number
- Any additional information requested by the provider
This option can be suitable when the recipient wants the money deposited directly into their account and the sender has the required bank details.
Check the account details carefully before sending. An incorrect account number or recipient name can delay the transfer or send the money to the wrong account.
Mobile wallets: GCash, Maya and Coins.ph
GCash, Maya and Coins.ph are separate mobile wallet services used in the Philippines. When supported, money is deposited into the wallet connected to the recipient’s registered mobile number.
A wallet transfer can be practical when the recipient regularly uses the wallet and wants to access the money through their phone.
Before sending, confirm:
- Which wallet the recipient uses
- That the wallet account is active and eligible to receive the transfer
- That the recipient’s registered name and mobile number are correct
- Whether verification requirements or receiving limits apply
Do not assume that a recipient with one wallet can receive money through another. Selecting the wrong wallet or entering the wrong mobile number can cause the transfer to fail or reach the wrong account.
Cash pickup networks
Cash pickup allows the recipient to collect physical cash from a participating location in the Philippines. Available networks may include Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop and Western Union agent locations, depending on the provider.
The recipient will normally need:
- A valid government-issued photo ID
- A pickup or transfer reference number
- A name matching the transfer details
The available network matters as well as the recipient amount. A cash-pickup transfer may be less practical if the recipient cannot easily reach a participating location or collect the money during its opening hours.
Confirm the nearest available location and its requirements before sending.
Debit-card payout
Some providers may allow money to be sent directly to an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit card. This is different from using a card to pay for the transfer: the recipient’s debit card is used as the payout destination.
Card eligibility, required recipient details, fees and limits depend on the provider. Confirm that the recipient’s card is supported before selecting this option.
Why the payout method matters
The provider offering the highest estimated PHP amount may not support the payout method your recipient prefers.
A recipient who regularly uses GCash or Maya may value a direct wallet transfer, while someone who needs physical cash may prefer a convenient pickup network. A bank deposit or debit-card payout may be more suitable when the recipient wants the money deposited without visiting a location.
Compare the estimated recipient amount first, then check the payout method, delivery estimate, limits and recipient requirements before making a decision.
How long does a UAE to Philippines money transfer take?
Wallet, bank, card and cash-pickup transfers can have different delivery times. Some transfers may be completed within minutes, while bank processing, wallet verification, transfer limits or additional checks can cause delays.
Cash pickup also depends on the selected location’s opening hours. Treat the displayed delivery time as an estimate and confirm it for the selected payout method before paying.
What should you check before sending?
Before completing the transfer, confirm:
- The final amount the recipient will receive in PHP
- That the required payout method is available
- The recipient details required
- The estimated delivery time
- Any wallet, card or transfer limits
- The final fee and exchange rate
- Whether a promotional rate is limited to new customers or selected transfers
- That the recipient’s name, account number or mobile number is correct
You can also check the indicative AED to PHP exchange rate for currency context before comparing the rates offered by individual providers.
Rates, fees and availability can change. The provider’s final quote is the amount that applies to the transfer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to send money from UAE to the Philippines?
There is no single payout method that is best for every transfer. Compare the estimated recipient amount first, then check whether the provider supports the payout method the recipient needs. The most suitable option can change depending on the send amount, exchange rate, fee, delivery time and how the recipient wants to access the money.
Can I send money from the UAE to GCash, Maya or Coins.ph?
Some providers support transfers from the UAE to eligible Philippine mobile wallets. Availability varies by provider, and support for one wallet does not mean that every wallet is available. Confirm the selected wallet, recipient eligibility, registered name, mobile number and receiving limits before sending.
What happens if I select the wrong wallet or mobile number?
The transfer may fail or be credited to the wrong wallet account. Mobile wallet transfers can be difficult to change or reverse once processed. Confirm which wallet the recipient uses and check their registered mobile number before paying.
Can money be sent to a Philippine debit card?
Some providers may support payouts to eligible Visa or Mastercard debit cards. The recipient’s card is used as the payout destination rather than as the sender’s payment method. Card availability, eligibility, fees and limits depend on the provider. Check the current transfer flow before sending.
Where can my recipient collect cash in the Philippines?
Available pickup networks may include Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop and Western Union agent locations. The available network depends on the selected provider. Confirm the nearest location, opening hours, identification requirements and pickup reference before sending.
What details are needed for a Philippine bank deposit?
You will commonly need the recipient’s full name, bank name and account number. The provider may request additional recipient or transfer information. Check that the recipient’s name matches the bank account and confirm the exact requirements before starting the transfer.
Why can the PHP amount differ between payout methods?
A provider may apply different exchange rates, fees or limits depending on whether the money is sent to a bank account, mobile wallet, debit card or cash-pickup location. RemitNavigator’s results are estimates based on the displayed rate and fee. Confirm the final PHP amount for the selected payout method before paying.
How are providers ranked in the comparison?
When you enter what you can spend, providers are ranked by the highest estimated recipient amount. When you enter what your recipient needs, providers are ranked by the lowest estimated total amount you may need to spend. Both estimates use the displayed exchange rate and transfer fee. Receiving method and delivery time are not currently included in the ranking.
Can I compare money transfers from Dubai to the Philippines?
Yes. Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates, so the UAE to Philippines comparison is relevant when sending from Dubai. Provider and payout-method availability may still depend on how and where you initiate the transfer.
