What could make the difference?
Compare the estimated recipient amounts above to see how much the displayed results differ.
The difference comes from the combination of the displayed exchange rate and transfer fee. A provider may charge a low or no visible fee while including part of the cost in a less favourable exchange rate. That is why a lower fee does not always mean that more money reaches your recipient.
Before sending, confirm the final amount, receiving method and delivery time directly with the provider.

Send money from the UAE to Bangladesh
One feature that distinguishes transfers to Bangladesh is the 2.5% government cash incentive available for eligible wage-earner remittances sent through formal channels.
When comparing providers, check whether this incentive is already included in the displayed recipient amount or will be credited separately. Otherwise, two amounts shown in BDT may not be directly comparable.
RemitNavigator compares available provider rates, fees and estimated recipient amounts for the same send amount.
How does the 2.5% remittance incentive work?
For an eligible remittance of 100,000 BDT, the government incentive would add 2,500 BDT. The recipient could therefore receive a total of 102,500 BDT.
The incentive is generally processed through the receiving bank or mobile financial service. Depending on how the transfer is presented, a provider may show:
- The remittance amount before the incentive
- A total that already includes the incentive
- The incentive as a separate credit to the recipient
Some receiving institutions may also offer their own promotional incentive. This is separate from the government incentive and should not be assumed to apply.
Not every international payment qualifies. Eligibility depends on the type of payment and whether it is sent through an approved formal remittance channel.

Ways to receive money in Bangladesh
Money can be delivered to a mobile financial service account, deposited into a Bangladeshi bank account or collected as cash.
Mobile financial services
bKash, Nagad, Rocket and Upay are established mobile financial services in Bangladesh. Money sent through a supported formal remittance channel can be delivered to an eligible account.
This can be practical when the recipient regularly manages money through their phone. The sender will normally need the recipient’s full name and the mobile number registered with the selected service.
If the recipient intends to withdraw the balance, check the applicable cash-out charge. The amount credited to the account may therefore be higher than the amount available as physical cash after withdrawal costs. Wallet eligibility and transaction limits may also apply.
Bank account
A bank transfer deposits the money directly into the recipient’s Bangladeshi bank account. Required information can include the recipient’s full name, account number, bank and branch details.
This can suit recipients who want to keep the money in their account, make bank payments or withdraw it later. Check whether the displayed recipient amount includes the government incentive or whether it will be credited separately.
Cash pickup
Cash pickup can work when the recipient needs physical cash or does not use a suitable bank account or mobile financial service.
The recipient will normally need valid identification and the transfer reference number. Availability depends on the provider’s participating locations and their opening hours.
What should you check before sending?
For a transfer to Bangladesh, confirm:
- The amount the provider says the recipient will receive
- Whether the 2.5% government incentive is included
- Whether the transfer qualifies for the incentive
- The available receiving method
- Any wallet, cash-out or payout costs
- The expected delivery time and applicable limits
You can also check the indicative AED to BDT exchange rate for currency context before comparing provider offers.
Rates, fees, incentive treatment and availability can change. The provider’s final quote and transfer information apply to the transaction.
Frequently asked questions
Will my recipient receive an extra 2.5% in Bangladesh?
Eligible wage-earner remittances sent through approved formal channels can receive a 2.5% government cash incentive. Not every international payment qualifies, so check the eligibility information for the transfer before sending.
Is the government incentive included in the recipient amount?
It may be included in the amount displayed by the provider or credited separately through the receiving institution. Check the provider’s final quote before comparing recipient totals.
Can I send money to bKash, Nagad, Rocket or Upay?
Money sent through a supported formal remittance channel can be delivered to an eligible mobile financial service account. Availability and recipient requirements vary, so confirm that the provider supports the selected service before sending.
Does it cost money to withdraw a remittance from a mobile account?
A cash-out charge may apply when the recipient withdraws money from a mobile financial service account. The cost depends on the service and withdrawal method, so the wallet balance may be higher than the physical cash received after withdrawal costs.
Is a mobile account better than a bank transfer?
It depends on how the recipient wants to use the money. A mobile account can provide convenient digital access, while a bank transfer can suit someone who wants the money deposited directly into their bank account. Compare availability, limits and any withdrawal costs.
Why can two providers show different BDT amounts?
The result can differ because of the exchange rate, transfer fee, promotion or receiving method. A provider may also include the 2.5% government incentive in its displayed amount while another shows it separately. Confirm the final BDT amount and incentive treatment before paying.
